Lockdown- a rare chance

The days are sunny

Yet we stay inside

We know it’s for the best 

To keep others alive 

We miss our families 

And we miss our friends 

But we’ll appreciate them more

When this eventually ends 

Some days we feel

Slightly more sad than others

It takes its toll on you

When you have been inside for hours

Other days we tick off our jobs on our lists

Keeping busy

And productive 

Trying to make time go quick

Although it’s tough

This new life we live in

Bright days are ahead of us

We just have to believe in 

Imagine how much more

We’ll appreciate life

From being so still

And patient for a while

We’ll be with our families 

Once again 

Visit to the beaches

Having coffee with friends 

We’ll never take

Our sweet lives for granted 

We’ll smile each day

For the freedom we’ll have then 

So sit tight and wait

This will soon be over

We’ll be together again soon

Each day we’re one step closer.
